Russia has released the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine against the Coronavirus , developed by Russia’s Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) , for civil circulation while the regional deliveries are planned in the coming days , the Russian health ministry informed the press.
The Health Ministry of Russia was quoted in a statement , “The first batch of the ‘Gam-COVID-Vac’ [Sputnik V] vaccine for the prevention of the new coronavirus infection, developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, has passed the necessary quality tests in the laboratories of Roszdravnadzor [medical device regulator] and has been released into civil circulation.”

The ministry had registered Russia’s 1st vaccine against Covid-19, Sputnik V , on August 11.
Sergey Sobyanin , Mayor of Moscow , was optimistic that the majority of the city’s population will be administered within the coming months.
The Health Ministry said that the first batches of the vaccine will be delivered to the country’s regions in the coming time.
“WHO is aware of a Covid-19 vaccine that has been registered in the Russian Federation’s national medicines registry,” a WHO spokesperson had said last month and has stressed for the safety and effectiveness of any possible vaccine which must abide by the established procedure.
